What Transcendental Meditation did for me? And can for you!

Transcendental meditation (TM) is the path that brought me back, to my final destination — to my forever ‘home’. It can, bring you back – ‘home’ – too!

TM allowed me to start identifying myself with my most natural and evolved state. I can easily describe this state as that where I experience a deep sense of calm. It always makes me feel floating and extremely light as if without the burden of body, mind, thoughts and feelings.

In fact, to be honest, I only seem to experience a state of pure awareness when in TM, as if a silhouette of energy.

I am certainly always ‘present’, but a feeling completely separate from and far away from the usual body, thoughts and feeling combination that human beings often identify themselves with in their conscious state.

No, I do not drift off to sleep. I don’t imagine or hallucinate an altered state! In fact, I feel the most ‘alive’ whenever I sit for my TM sessions.

Most of the times, this state makes me experience myself as an entity all-pervading and endless — as if the source of all that exists, and does not. It seems without beginning and end. It certainly takes me above and beyond all limitations of conceptual perception.

Scientific studies in the world’s top medical schools cite the manifold improved physical and mental outcomes from TM. Even just 20 minutes of TM twice a day is known to yield mind boggling benefits. (https://www.bmj.com/rapid-response/2011/10/29/research-shows-transcendental-meditation-valuable-health).

Besides this, TM is an evidence based practice that allows human beings to start realizing how the connection to their physical layer is an imagined state. They slowly graduate to living at a higher energy level. This higher energy, is an experiential state. It is literally, a superior sense of ‘beingness’, which leaves the practitioner in varying states of bliss, joy and unexplained happiness.

“Live each moment completely and the future will take care of itself. Fully enjoy the wonder and beauty of each moment.”
― Paramahansa Yogananda

Usually, if you stay around or engage with people who practice TM regularly, you will sense in them a deep detachment, a child like attitude and also a heightened state of alertness and efficiency. This is because this practice leaves its practitioners with immense clarity of thought. This helps them either stay extremely relaxed about things that don’t really matter, or then be super focused and efficient in whatever they wish to execute.

While TM practitioners have several reasons they initiate themselves into this technique, mostly, this is because they want to enhance their spiritual connected-ness. They want to rise above and experience a much higher and deeper state of silence. A number of times, they have already tried other meditation techniques, which have yielded temporary results and are not self sustaining.

TM allows you to arrive at a natural state which can be easily described as ‘home’. As a result of the enhanced vibrational frequency derived by the practitioner as a normal state of ‘being’, the outer world automatically seems to secede and one’s feeling of ‘being’ elevates to as if an almost self steering journey of immense contentment and deep satisfaction, without any dependence on material comforts.

Continue to stay tuned as I dive into deeper details in my subsequent write ups on TM as a technique. I will elucidate on numerous practices one can follow to easily arrive at the highest levels of ‘self’ experience through this amazing practice.

In gratitude!
